CFAU hosts delegation of African young diplomats, diplomatic academy heads

China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), commissioned by the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosted a delegation of heads of African young diplomats and heads of diplomatic academies from April 14 to 18, 2025, in Beijing and Shanghai.

The event was held to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The 62-member delegation comprised representatives from 50 African countries, including four vice-ministerial-level representatives.

During their stay in Beijing, the delegation attended a seminar on Building a China-Africa community with a shared future, and listened to lectures on China-Africa relations and the history of China's war of resistance. They also visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China and the Forbidden City.

The program offered the delegates a multidimensional perspective on China — politically, historically and culturally — while giving them a firsthand look at the CPC's century-long journey and the country's unique blend of ancient civilization and modern development.

In Shanghai, the delegation toured the Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center. They also held discussions with faculty and students from Donghua University, gaining a deeper understanding of China's history of resistance against Japanese aggression and its achievements of Chinese modernization.

The delegation spoke highly of the visit and expressed their appreciation for CFAU's thoughtful arrangements and warm hospitality. The program enhanced mutual understanding and deepened mutual trust between China and Africa and expanded institutional cooperation between CFAU and African diplomatic academies. It contributed to greater solidarity and collaboration among Global South countries and helped advance the shared goal of building an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future.
