Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, visited the Research Center on Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity at China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing on April 1.
Wang said that the establishment and development of the center represent an important political task entrusted to the diplomatic front by the CPC Central Committee. He urged the center to keep in mind its glorious mission, thoroughly study and effectively promote this original concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity, support the research, interpretation and public outreach of the Party's innovative theories, and steadily advance this theoretical project with distinct political attributes.
Wang called for always maintaining strong political consciousness and firmly upholding the correct political direction to ensure that theoretical research is well-grounded, principled and dynamic.
He stressed the importance of deeply understanding the strategic guiding role of the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity amid changes unseen in a century; fully appreciating its important guiding significance as a scientific system; accurately grasping the Marxist stance, viewpoint and methods embodied in this vision; and understanding its profound connotations that integrate ancient and modern wisdom as well as Chinese and foreign civilizations.
In this way, Wang said, the center can strengthen historical confidence, draw strength for forging ahead, uphold the fundamentals and build China's narrative system.
Wang noted that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30). He called on the center to scale new theoretical heights, forge ahead with determination and initiative and make greater contributions to major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
