Wang Shiting, secretary of the Party Committee of China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) and secretary-general of the Research Center on Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity, met with a delegation led by Alieu Loum, chief of staff to the president of The Gambia, at the university in Beijing on April 3.

Wang led the delegation on a tour of the research center's exhibition hall, and held a symposium with them. Officials from the center, CFAU's Foreign Affairs Office, and the China Diplomatic Academy also attended the meeting.
Wang said that the center was established at CFAU in January last year. Although the center has been in operation for only a short time, it has already produced a number of high-quality research outcomes and hosted several important events, according to Wang. Notably, the symposium on the China-Africa community with a shared future held at the university last April attracted widespread attention, he added.

Noting that China and Africa enjoy a long-standing friendship, he said that guided by the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, the two sides have worked together to build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future, which serves as an important model for world development and peace.
Loum congratulated the center on its establishment and achievements. He noted that China is a good friend and good brother to both The Gambia and Africa as a whole, and the country has provided tremendous support for the development of African countries, including The Gambia. Through mutual support, the vision of a shared future has gained broad support among the African people, he said.
He added that Africa fully recognizes and actively supports the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, and stands ready to help build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future.
He extended an invitation to researchers at CFAU, especially those from the center, to visit The Gambia to exchange views on better promoting this vision in his country and across Africa.

Wang expressed the willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Gambian side on the research and promotion of the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity. The two sides also exchanged views on providing diplomatic training and developing courses for The Gambia, reaching preliminary agreement on cooperation.
